I Web Services di SugarCRM sono implementati tramite il toolkit <em>NuSOAP<\/em> (sia per <em>SOAP<\/em> sia per <em>REST<\/em>). SOAP (<em>Simple Object Access Protocol<\/em>) \u00e8 usato per realizzare chiamate di procedura remota tramite il protocollo (utilizzato come trasporto)\u00a0<em>HTTP<\/em> per trasmettere messaggi in XML. Le API <em>SugarSoap<\/em>, costruite sopra la libreria NuSOAP, sono incluse nelle edizioni Community, Professional, Corporate, Enterprise e Ultimate. <em>REST<\/em> (<em>Representational State Transfer<\/em>) \u00e8 utilizzato per effettuare le chiamate di metodo attraverso il protocollo HTTP per l'invio e la ricezione di messaggi in formato JSON. Il framework di SugarCRM supporta l'aggiunta di diversi formati per lo scambio dati REST, i formati supportati <em>out-of-the-box<\/em>\u00a0sono JSON e la serializzazione in formato PHP. Ad esempio, \u00e8 possibile aggiungere formato XML per inviare e ricevere dati. La documentazione pubblicata da Sugar (<a title=\"Extending Web Services\" href=\"http:\/\/support.sugarcrm.com\/02_Documentation\/04_Sugar_Developer\/Sugar_Developer_Guide_6.5\/02_Application_Framework\/Web_Services\/06_Extending_Web_Services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Extending Web Services<\/a>) \u00e8 molto chiara sul meccanismo d'estensione dei Web Services.\u00a0<em><strong>E' \u00a0davvero necessario estendere i Web Services di SugarCRM?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tutte le operazioni che l'utente \"umano\" esegue tramite GUI sull'entit\u00e0 gestite dal CRM possono essere eseguite attraverso le API esposte come Web Services. Attraverso le API native \u00e8 quindi possibile eseguire le seguenti operazioni elementari (<em>CRUD<\/em>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create or add new entries<\/li>\n<li>Read, retrieve, search, or view existing entries<\/li>\n<li>Update or edit existing entries<\/li>\n<li>Delete\/deactivate existing entries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nella maggior parte degli scenari d'integrazione (complessi o semplici che siano) le operazioni elencate in precedenza che SugarCRM espone nativamente sono pi\u00f9 che sufficienti per soddisfare i requisiti d'integrazione.
