Possible configuration for SugarCRM?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few months ago I responded to a <a title=\"MS-SQL Linux Connector\" href=\"https:\/\/community.sugarcrm.com\/sugarcrm\/topics\/sql_linux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">question<\/a>\u00a0(<strong>MS-SQL Linux Connector<\/strong>) on the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"SugarCRM\" href=\"http:\/\/sugarcrm.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">SugarCRM<\/a> community. The question is the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Ok. Built a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ubuntu (operating system)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Ubuntu server<\/a> using the version per the OS supported guide. Followed by installing all of the requirements including the versions for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"PHP\" href=\"http:\/\/www.php.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">PHP<\/a>, Apache, <a class=\"zem_slink broken_link\" title=\"MySQL\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mysql.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">MySQL<\/a>, etc..\u00a0 I am now in business with one thing; I need this to use a SQL Server (and not MySQL).\u00a0 Any guides available on setting Sugar,PHP, Apache, etc. to work with a SQL Server?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The first response from the Community Manager has been:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">At this time, our plan is\u00a0to support MSSQL in Sugar 7 starting with version 7.5. This is subject to change, but is the current estimate. In 6.5.x, MSSQL is only supported\u00a0on an IIS Server as the MS Driver is required. Using <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Linux\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Linux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Linux<\/a> and MSSQL is not currently supported.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apparently it seems that it is not possible to install SugarCRM (especially version 7 of SugarCRM) on the software stack, Linux and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Microsoft SQL Server\" href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/sqlserver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Microsoft SQL Server<\/a>.\u00a0Although officially SugarCRM does not support this configuration, <strong>you can install SugarCRM on Linux that uses Microsoft SQL Server as the database<\/strong>,\u00a0just simply install the <strong>driver <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"FreeTDS\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/FreeTDS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">FreeTDS<\/a><\/strong> on Linux and <strong>MSSQL PHP module<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the purpose I have created a <strong><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Virtual appliance\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virtual_appliance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Virtual Appliance<\/a><\/strong> able to accommodate the installation of SugarCRM + Linux + MSSQL Module to connect to Microsoft SQL Server.\u00a0This<span style=\"color: #222222;\">\u00a0Virtual Appliance based on <strong>Ubuntu 14<\/strong> to install SugarCRM with support for Microsoft SQL Server.
