Developer Training Resources ­- Sugar 7

Recentemente SugarCRM ha rilasciato la versione 7 del suo prodotto di CRM. Questa nuova release è decisamente nuova, ciò che colpisce ad un primo impatto è sicuramente il design dell’interfaccia utente, che ha preso il nome Sugar UX, anche il core è stato rivisitato è riscritto in ottica servizi.

Nel mese di ottobre 2013 a Monaco di Baviera, è stata tenuta una sessione di due giorni di training dedicata agli sviluppatori riguardo la nuova release del CRM. Le lezioni tenute in questi due giorni sono state registrate e rese disponibili sul learning portal di Sugar University. Le lezioni sono state divise in circa una ventina di video da visionare preferibilmente in ordine sequenziale.

Lo scopo di questo training è stato quello di illustrare le differenze principali tra la Sugar 6 e la nuova piattaforma di Sugar 7. I temi trattati sono i seguenti:

Prima ho accennato la parola magica servizi. Tutto o quasi passa per le REST API. Perchè questa scelta? Ecco un piccolo riassunto:

  • Più semplice da mantenere
  • Più semplice creare integrazioni
  • Più semplice trovare, gestire e correggere errori
  • Scalabile con una migliore gestione della cache
  • Apertura per le piattaforme mobili (Android, iOS, Microsoft, etc…)
  • Più semplice il riutilizzo e estensione
  • Aperto a chiunque

Con questa nuova release è cresciuto in modo spaventoso il numero di framework JavaScript adottati. Si tratta di framework divenuti ormai standard e adottati in un gran numero di progetti, framework di cui sicuramente parecchi di voi avranno già all’orecchio o magari utilizzato.
